Genes and Colors
Coat color is only a small part of the story. Behind colors and patterns are genetics, breeding decisions and health considerations a responsible breeder must understand.
Color is not the whole story
Coat colors attract attention, but responsible breeding cannot treat color as the main goal. Behind every pattern are genes, possible pairings and health considerations that should be understood before breeding decisions are made.
Good breeding decisions balance health, temperament, structure and breed fit. A striking color does not compensate for missing checks or poor matching.
Choosing well
Choose by temperament, health and suitability first, then by visual preference. A professional breeder should explain what is known about the parents’ colors, what tests were done and what each pairing may mean.
